Triple-Decker Club Sandwiches with Lemon-Garlic Aioli
Lemon-Garlic Aioli Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 roasted garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Note: Roasted garlic is MUCH mellower than raw, fresh garlic. You can purchase it from
a supermarket antipasto bar if you don't want to roast it yourself! If you don't
have roasted garlic on hand and would like to substitute, use 1/2 teaspoon
garlic powder.
To Prepare Aioli:
-Place garlic cloves into a small bowl. Mash with a fork to form a thick paste. Stir in
mayonnaise and lemon juice.

There are no hard and fast rules for these sandwiches! Use your favorite sandwich ingredients. Here is a list of suggestions:
- Your FAVORITE bread. Don't use wimpy bread! You will need three slices per sandwich.
- Your FAVORITE deli meats. Roasted turkey, Rosemary ham, Angus roast beef.
- Your FAVORITE cheese, yet a mild one that will not compete with the rest of the sandwich. American, muenster, swiss will pair nicely with the bolder ingredients.
- Bacon. Thick-sliced bacon, crisply cooked is best!
- Lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced avocado, thinly sliced Granny Smith (or other crisp) apple.
- Lemon-Garlic aioli or any of your favorite condiments.
To Assemble the Sandwiches:
-You are the boss when it comes to building this sandwich! You are going to start with
3 slices of bread, toasted or untoasted, the choice is yours.
-Spread lemon-garlic aioli (or your favorite sandwich condiment/spread) onto one slice
of bread.
-Place lettuce on top of the aioli. Add a few slices of tomato. Place a few slices of deli
meat on top of the tomatoes.
-Add a second slice of bread/toast. You may think that you can now call this a sandwich,
but you are not done yet!
-Place another leaf of lettuce onto the second layer of bread. Add a slice or two of bacon,
and a slice of cheese. Place a few thin slices of granny smith apple on top before you
add the last layer of bread/toast, or mash a few slices of avocado onto the last piece of
bread/toast before you place it on top of the sandwich.
-Finally, you must skewer these sandwiches with long cocktail toothpicks. The toothpicks
will hold everything together!
-Cut the sandwiches into halves or quarters and serve immediately.
