Apple-Raspberry Pie with Almond Crumb Topping

Adapted from Betty Crocker

Pie Ingredients

    • 1 ready-made pie crust
    • 3 medium apples, peeled and sliced
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 2 cups frozen raspberries
    • 4 oz. almond paste, crumbled or cubed into 1/4-inch pieces

Topping Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter

-Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

-Unroll the pie crust and put it into a 9-inch glass pie plate. Crimp the edges.

-Peel and slice the apples. Put the slices into a large bowl and stir in the sugar, flour and cinnamon

until coated.

-Place the apples into your pie crust. Sprinkle with the raspberries, then the cubed almond paste.

-Process (or use a pastry cutter, or crisscross with two knives) the topping ingredients until they

resemble coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly on top of the pie.

-Cover the edges of the pie with foil strips, to prevent the crust from burning. Bake for 1 hr. 5

minutes to 1 hr. 20 minutes, removing the foil strips after 45 minutes.
