Assignment: Work with a Teachers Assistant to learn how to create a compelling story about the changes
around the building. You will work together from ideation through editing the Rough Cut and then you will
finish it off on your own.
Due: A 1-2 minute video, that will include an interview and quality, creative b-roll to help visually tell your
story.
Goal: For the Teachers Assistants to lead the First Semester students through the production process for the
first time. We will teach them how to shoot video, edit it on Final Cut Pro and upload it to lfhsnewmedia.com.
The TAs will help teach the most efficient process towards developing compelling visual stories with a phone.
Wednesday-Thursday August 24-25- Introduction of the project- watch examples, (burning marshmallows)
ideate and select teams and go out for a pre-interview
Friday August 26- TA introductions
Wednesday-Thursday August 31-Sept 1- Production- shooting interview, create list of shots needed,
download video to TA computer
Friday September 2- Begin editing in Final Cut Pro, create two minute Rough Cut first draft
Tuesday September 6- Re-Shooting, creating Shot Sheet based off Rough Cut, pick up shots
Wednesday-Thursday September 7-8 Final TA Edit Add shots, transitions, titles and upload it to
lfhsnewmedia.com
Friday September 9-editing through learning- HOW TO VIDEO RESOURCES
Monday September 12- editing for Rough Draft
Tuesday September 13- editing music and adding additional shots as needed
Wednesday-Thursday September 14-15- Rough Cut Critique
