CP Trailer Re-Cut Project- Telecom- Video Production

Assignment: Take a familiar movie and cut together a trailer that tells a different story than what is expected.

Due: A 1-2 minute trailer, with a great soundtrack that makes people laugh.

Goal: Have fun editing together a trailer that tells a unique story. Learning the specific storytelling process quality trailers use to tell a specific story to motivate an audience to watch the full feature.

Pre-Production

Wednesday April 14- Introduce project and talk through what we learned from the last project

Thursday April 15- Brainstorm ideas, watch through examples-

Friday April 16- watch through examples outside of our program and continue idea development in class

Monday April 19- find a movie and pitch the idea of how to change the genre

Tuesday April 20- Verbal PITCH/PROPOSAL to the class

Wednesday April 21- Watch through DVD and log key scenes

Thursday April 22- Arrange scenes and ideas based on concept

Friday April 23- Peer Script review in class- making sure it's going to be funny

Monday April 26- Rip DVD scenes and dialogue

Tuesday April 27- Rip DVD scenes and dialogue

Monday May 3- Thursday May 6- Begin assemble editing

Friday May 7- Rough Cut critique with Mr. Douglass

Monday May 10- Thursday May 13 editing

Friday May 14- Second Rough Cut with Mr. Douglass

Monday May 17- editing

Tuesday May 18- editing

Wednesday May 19- editing

Thursday May 20- Rough Draft Peer Critique

Friday May 21- editing

Post- Production

Friday May 29- Critique in class, provide feedback for final corrections and selections for Best of Telecom in the DMT
