Client Based Project
Assignment: Work collaboratively with Writing for Mass Communications classes, or your own classmates, to create and develop an original video that will have a meaningful impact on your peers dealing with a community based issue.
Due: Take the ideas or research provided and develop a clear message for your specified peer audience, one that you will be able to effectively communicate in a short format from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. You will also need to create copyright free music soundtrack to help persuade your audience, so you don’t limit your impact.
Goal: You will get experience being a producer, working with other students to cultivate their ideas and vision into a memorable campaign. To understand the complexity, detail and communication needed to produce excellent storytelling while working with an idea that you didn’t develop or might not be interested in personally.
Pre- Production Process:
Monday March 2- Introduce project, recap what we learned from our last project and watch through last year’s project to get ideas
Tuesday March 3- Hear directly from the Client we will be working for, exchanging ideas and understanding the topic fully
Wednesday March 4- Discuss ideas in class
Thursday March 5- Develop full class Topic/Pitch/Proposal (s)
Friday March 6- Deliver Pitch/Proposal to Client at the beginning of class- refine proposal together during class
Monday March 9- Work on Script in class with Mass Comm Tuesday
March 10- Work on Script and Storyboard in class with Mass Comm
Wednesday March 11- Script and Storyboard due at the end of class emailed
Thursday March 12- Develop Production Schedule and plan out how you’re going to shoot it with Mass Comm class
Friday March 13- Finish up Pre- Production and possibly meet with the client for Green light

Monday March 16-20 Production Week
Post- Production Process:
Monday March 23- Editing
Tuesday March 24- Rough cut due for teacher critique Wednesday March 25- editing
Thursday March 27- Rough Draft Due for Client critique
Friday March 28- editing
Monday April 6- editing
Tuesday April 7- Final Draft Due to DVD/V drive by end of day
Wednesday April 8- Screen projects- what we learned
