Assignment: Take inspiration from Danny Boyle’s creative storytelling in Slumdog Millionaire to replicate the brilliant character development through continuity changes in perspective and location. Your character can be real or fictional, but they have to come alive through context, conflict and resolution.
Due: 2-3 minute video that utilizes dialogue and music to communicate a characters pursuit for something meaningful that is revealed to the audience in the final 30 seconds.
Goal: To combine powerful visual techniques with key elements of story to create a meaningful sequence of shots that makes your audience feel like they KNOW your character. Replicating the brilliant elements Danny Boyle uses in Slumdog Millionaire, and his other films, to learn how to communicate a lot in an efficient amount of time.

Wednesday August 26- Watch behind the scenes and first 30 minutes of Slumdog
Thursday August 27- Intro project and then watch first 30 minutes of Commentary
Friday August 28- Watch second 45 minutes of Slumdog
Monday August 31- Watch second 45 minutes of the Commentary
Tuesday September 1- Finish up Slumdog Millionaire with Discussion
Wednesday September 2- Finish up commentaries and special features
Thursday September 3- Topic/Pitch/Proposal development in class
Friday September 4- TPP developed in class for critique
Tuesday September 8- Scripting in Zhura and review of shot location
Wednesday September 9- Continuing in Zhura, create production schedule
Thursday September 10- Zhura scripting critique during class & creating shot sheet
Friday September 11- Finalizing of all Pre-Production including location pictures
