AP Pick a Contest... and win it
Lake Forest High School New Media
Assignment: Find a high school contest that you would like to submit a video to, study how to win it and create an excellent video that fits the rules so you have a great chance at delivering.
Due: An extremely specified 2-3 minute video that will compete really well in a contest.
Goal: To work with a partner, or by yourself, to learn how to create a professional level video for judges that will give you feedback based off their stated objectives. I also want you to research to figure out what wins and do your best to make your own unique work to submit and do well in the contest/festival.
Pre- Production Process:
Tuesday October 8- Introduce project, talk through ideas check out contests
Wednesday October 9- work with 1st Semester students through their questions
Thursday October 10- finish up with 1st Semester students and refine ideas
Friday October 11- Advanced Ideation + Pitch Day
Production Process:
Monday October 14- Columbus Day Holiday
Tuesday October 15- Helping out with shooting studio interviews
Wednesday October 16- Late Start- Shooting studio interviews
Thursday October 17- Outline details of your idea
Friday October 18- Finalize idea and develop Production Schedule
Monday October 21- Begin shooting for Production - Thursday October 24
Friday October 25- Rough Cut critique with Mr. Douglass
Monday October 28- Thursday October 31st- editing
Tuesday November 5- Rough Draft Peer Critique
Thursday November 13- Final Draft due to server in DMT format
