Term 3 marked an important stage in my journey as a trainee TVET trainer, as it focused on strengthening my pedagogical competence, professional conduct, instructional mastery, and ability to support learners holistically. Unlike previous terms that emphasized foundational theory, Term 3 transitioned fully into Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET), requiring me to apply knowledge in real situations across guidance, teaching methods, project design, food hygiene, and flexible learning.
This term emphasized practical problem-solving, reflective practice, digital literacy, and the ability to support learners emotionally, academically, and professionally. Through hands-on tasks, online learning activities, class demonstrations and continuous assessment, I developed not just knowledge but the competences required of a modern TVET educator — including empathy, instructional clarity, assessment skills, technological proficiency, safety awareness, and curriculum implementation abilities.
Overall, Term 3 enhanced my readiness to train, guide, assess, mentor, and support learners in both hospitality-based and blended learning environments. Overall, it has enhanced my confidence, competence, and readiness to function as a learner-centered TVET trainer. The knowledge and skills gained during this period are directly applicable to real training environments and support my ongoing professional development journey.
