In this topic, I explored how to create interactive digital materials that allow learners to participate actively in the learning process. These include quizzes, clickable graphics, drag-and-drop exercises, and discussion forums embedded in online platforms.
I learned that interactivities promote learner engagement, motivation, and self-assessment. They transform passive learning into an active experience where learners take responsibility for their progress.
This topic strengthened my understanding of learner-centered approaches and how to apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in online instruction.
As a trainee hospitality trainer, I used H5P to create an interactive activity on โIntroduction to Advances Cooking Techniques.โ I chose this tool because it allows learners to participate actively and apply what they have learned in a fun and engaging way. Through drag-and-drop and other interactive features, learners can practice various cooking correctly while reinforcing their understanding of fine dining standards. This approach supports both visual and practical learning, which is essential in hospitality training.
By the end of this H5P activity, I aim for learners to be able to:
Explain the importance of mise en place and professionalism in advanced cookery.
Identify key kitchen tools and their uses.
Apply hygiene and safety procedures in food production.
Demonstrate a positive professional attitude in the kitchen.
Creating this H5P activity was a valuable learning experience for me. It helped me see how technology can make teaching more engaging and interactive, especially in hospitality where practical skills are essential. I learned how to combine creativity with digital tools to support learners in understanding table setting procedures more effectively. This experience also improved my confidence in using online teaching tools and inspired me to integrate more interactive content in future lessons to enhance learner participation and understanding.ย
