This topic examined the intellectual or knowledge-based dimension of education. It emphasized the importance of developing learners’ thinking abilities, reasoning skills, and capacity for problem-solving.
I learned that trainers must encourage critical and reflective thinking rather than rote memorization. In the TVET context, the cognitive dimension is reflected in competency-based education and training (CBET), where learners apply knowledge to solve real-world challenges.
This topic strengthened my belief in fostering inquiry, creativity, and independent thinking in learners to produce adaptable and competent professionals.
