This topic introduced me to the principles of effective goal-setting and management, including the SMART framework (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound). I learned that setting realistic goals provides direction, fosters accountability, and builds resilience in the face of challenges.
Applying this knowledge, I developed a short- and long-term plan to achieve both academic and professional objectives. This experience strengthened my planning and prioritization skills, which are vital for balancing multiple responsibilities as a trainer and mentor.
The SMART Goals Worksheet was developed as part of Topic 2: Goals Management in Module 1. The activity aimed to strengthen my ability to set realistic and achievable objectives that align with my personal vision and professional aspirations as a TVET trainer. By applying the SMART framework—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—I was able to plan effectively, prioritize tasks, and monitor progress toward both short-term and long-term goals. This exercise enhanced my self-management skills and reinforced the importance of structured goal setting in personal and professional growth
