26-24 Library Fax Policy

CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON RESOLUTION 26 (2024)

LIBRARY FAX POLICY

WHEREAS: repeated abuse of library staff in time attempting to repeatedly send faxes of great length and expecting or demanding many re-transmit attempts that usually fail cost the Elgin Public Library and City of Elgin money,

RESOLVED: Faxes are limited to 10 single-side pages of 5 double-sided pages and a maximum of three attempts per customer per day,

RESOLVED: Regardless of the outcome of the transmission, Elgin Public Library patrons are responsible for paying a fee in the amount of $1.00/page or side of sheet,

RESOLVED: Exceptions to the policy shall be allowed at the discretion of the Director of Library Services or library official attending the fax machine at the time of the patron request for service.
