30-22 Little League Water

CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON RESOLUTION 30 (2022)

A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION 1220 (2007) AND TO PROVIDE WATER SERVICE TO THE ELGIN LITTLE LEAGUE BALL FIELDS THROUGH THE UNION COUNTY LITTLE LEAGUE ASSOCIATION AND BOISE CASCADE

WHEREAS: The Union County Little League Association and Boise Cascade has requested that the City of Elgin provide irrigation water for their ball fields free of charge, AND;

WHEREAS: The City of Elgin recognizes the community benefit in providing this service to the Little League Association, AND;

WHEREAS: The City of Elgin has a responsibility to insure the proper stewardship all public resources.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Elgin City Council acting on behalf of the community hereby allows the Union County Little League Association and Boise Cascade the following and under mentioned conditions:

• During the irrigation season the City of Elgin will provide 70,000 cu.ft. of water during each billing cycle free of charge

• The Union County Little League Association and all associated organizations agree to NOT transfer bulk water off premises, this must be purchased at Elgin City Hall

• The Union County Little League Association and all associated organizations must abide by City of Elgin ordinance number 13.08.090 Defective Fixtures

• The city being stewards of public resources will terminate this service if there is an undue use or waste of the water provided for irrigation of the ball fields
