CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON RESOLUTION 3 (2017)
A RESOLUTION AMENDING PART TIME EMPLOYEE SICK TIME IN THE CITY OF ELGIN PERSONNEL POLICY MANUEL [sic]
WHEREAS: The current policy does not meet the criteria for the State of Oregon sick time policy established in January 1, 2016.
WHEREAS: the City of Elgin wanting to be consistent with the State of Oregon policies for part time employee sick time.
"All employers with 10 or more employees (at least 6 for employers located in Portland) in Oregon must provide up to 40 hours of paid leave per year."
"Employees accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked or 1-1/3 hours for every 40 hours worked." (Information from the BOLi Oregon web site).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The City of Elgin amends the section stating "Part-time employees scheduled for less than 20 hours per week and seasonal employees do not earn sick leave" to the above verbiage.
