A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

WHEREAS: The City of Elgin, held an election on November 4, 2008 for the offices of Mayor, City Councilor and Recorder/Administrator, and;

WHEREAS: The Union County Clerk conducted this election and has provided the official abstract of votes, and;

WHEREAS: The abstract of votes as presented by the Union County Clerk is as follows:

and;  WHEREAS: The highest counts of Write-In votes for City Councilor are as follows:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Elgin hereby accepts the Abstract of Votes provided by the Union County Clerk as summarized herein, and;

BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Elgin hereby declares that the following persons have been duly elected to office as follows:

Mayor - Carmen Gentry, two year term beginning January 13, 2009

City Councilor - Suzanne Hanson, Gidget Sannar and Amy Nelson, four year terms beginning January 13, 2009

Recorder/Administrator - Terrie Richards, two year term beginning January 13, 2009
