CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON RESOLUTION 8 (2017)
A RESOLUTION DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR THE CITY OF ELGIN
WHEREAS the City of Elgin has suffered from a severe winter storm and flooding that occurred on November 24th, 2016 and has persisted to present day February 9, 2017; AND
WHEREAS extensive damage was caused to public and private property, disruption of utility service, and endangerment of health and safety of the residents of the City of Elgin within the disaster area; AND
WHEREAS all locally available public and private resources available to mitigate and alleviate the affects of this disaster have been insufficient to meet the needs of the situation.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Elgin City Council has declared a stale of emergency on behalf of the City of Elgin and will execute for and on behalf of the City of Elgin to allow the City Administrator, Public Works Director and Mayor the expenditure of emergency funds from all available sources, the invoking of mutual aid agreements, and the requesting assistance from the County and State.
