CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON RESOLUTION 8 (2019)
A RESOLUTION ADJUSTING EMPLOYEE BENEFITS IN THE 2015 PERSONEL MANUAL
WHEREAS the City of Elgin City Council acknowledges the sacrifices made by the City Employees serving in the United States Military; AND
WHEREAS the City of Elgin City Council believes that vacation time should NOT be used by members of the City to serve the State of Oregon and the United States of America while on duty.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT
The City of Elgin Personnel Manual, Page 39, Section Military Leave, shall read as follows; "Employees who wish to serve in the military and take military leave should contact the City Administrator for information about their rights before and after such leave. You are entitled to reinstatement upon completion of military service, provided you return or apply for reinstatement within the time allowed by law.
Any absence of active military duty, reserve or National Guard training, or for the purpose of providing military aid to enforce the law will be paid by the City. "
