The LHS majorettes are back and ready to tackle the 2017 halftime shows with the Golden Leopard Marching Band! Under the direction of Miss Eri Raib-Pitichkin and co-captains Kylie Mowery and Nicole Patrone, they had an amazing start to their season with a majorette boot camp hosted by Miss Eri at the Jewish Community Center where they got a little taste of their routines. The majorettes worked all summer with Mr. Summers and the marching band to create their “By the Numbers” show. They all attended summer at LHS, band camp at Slippery Rock University, band nights, and now all of the football games.
Miss Eri and the girls held their annual 3 day Little Miss Majorette camp, where little girls in grades 7 and under can experience what it’s like to be a majorette. At the camp, the girls learned the LHS fight song, our Alma Mater, The Star Spangled Banner, Cadences, and new baton twirling and tossing skills. At Liberty Band Night, the camp participants helped raise the crowd’s spirits by marching in with the majorettes and the band. While marching in, they performed cadences taught by Rachel and Taylor at the camp, on the field they performed the Star Spangled Banner and the Fight Song taught by Nicole and Sarah, and the Little Miss Majorettes even got to show off their awesome tossing skills taught by Kylie and Alexa at camp!
The lovely line consists of senior captain Kylie Mowery, who has been an LHS majorette for 4 years, senior captain Nicole Patrone who joined her sophomore year, junior Rachel who has participated for 3 years, sophomore Alexa Henry who joined her freshman year, and the two freshmen Sarah Hlaudy and Taylor Rudolphi. Besides performing at every band night and football game, the girls support themselves with their own fundraisings such as Little Miss Majorette Camp, 2 car washes, candy sales, and winter headbands (coming soon). The Leopard Line is looking forward to a great season, they hope to see you all at games!
