Last Friday, on Halloween night, the Liberty Leopards kicked off the Lakeview football game with the 2014 Senior Band Night. Dressed in new marching band uniforms, the seniors made their way across the football field for recognition.

By the time half time came around, the rain rolled in, but the Leopards refused to let precipitation put an end to their festivities. The football team was up 20-7 and the band peeled off their raincoats to reveal a variety of Halloween costumes.

After the Lakeview marching band finished up their show, Liberty took the field. The band jammed out to the classic Journey song “Any Way You Want It” and formed a fifteen for the feature tune “All Along The Watchtower”. The senior majorettes brightened up the night with their fire twirling to finish up the Liberty portion of the show. At the end, the Leopards brought the Lakeview band back on the field for a combined version of the Rob Zombie song “Dragula”. The bands stood in an alternating pattern while members of the crowd young and old took to their feet as the majorettes threw candy to waiting fans in the bleachers.

By the end of the night, the bands had put on an encore of “Dragula” for the visiting side, and the Leopards had picked up the win beating the Bulldogs 41-21. The marching season may be coming to an end, but it is not over yet. The Leopards take on the Gilmour Academy Lancers on Saturday. We wish the seniors, the band, and our football team the best of luck at their first playoff game.
