Possibly the biggest play for the Leopards on Friday night came from one of the youngest as freshman Simi Moananu picked off a Campbell Memorial pass and returned it 37-yards to the house giving Liberty a then 20-7 lead at the 3:26 mark of the fourth quarter. Campbell, however, would not go quietly.

With the Leopards up 20-7, the Red Devils Yianni Koullias returned the ensuing kickoff four a touchdown to once again pull Campbell within a score at 20-14. Liberty, however, was able to convert a few first downs and ultimately take a knee to preserve the road victory, its first since the 2014 season.

The Leopards jumped out to an early 13-0 lead with two scores in the first quarter as Dra Rushton who completed 7 of his 8 passes for 67-yards found Chris Edmonds for an 18-yard touchdown hookup. Moments later Rushton would scoop a Red Devil fumble and returned it 61-yards to the end zone giving the Leopards an early 13-0 lead.

Campbell, who was led by a strong performance by Yianni Koullias who finished with 145 yards on 25 carries would find the end zone in the winding moments of the first half when Antwane McMeans took a screen pass from Darion Jones and weaved across the goal line from 10-yards out to make the score 13-7i favor of Liberty heading into the half.

The Leopards were led in rushing by Rushton who had 86 yards on 9 carries as Charles Pickard and Jaylen McKinney chipped in with 48 and 39 yards apiece.

Liberty who improved to 3-2 with the victory will return to action next Friday when they host LaBrae at Leopard Stadium in its annual Homecoming contest. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 PM.
