LHS Golf

The Liberty Leopards Golf team had a great year on the course! The team consisted of Joey Nohra, Andrew Baumeier, and seniors: Mike Everly, Mike Walker, and Anthony Marsco. Overall, the team had an impressive season record of 11-6, while finishing with a 9-5 record in the AAC.

The team was consistent throughout the whole season as senior Michael Everly held the low average at 43.1. The three seniors had an average under 50. Liberty only shot over 200 once as a team in the regular season. Another feat achieved this season was the seven straight wins against conference rivals around the area. Later, the golf team participated at the State Sectionals. The tournament was held at Riverview Golf Course. Out of 16 teams, the Leopards finished 5th, almost squeezing into the top 4 to continue forward.

At the end of the season, senior Anthony Marsco said that he was, “proud of what the Liberty golf team has accomplished,” and he also talked about freshman Joey Nohra’s potential in the upcoming years. Coach Knittle was proud of the team, too. The team will miss the Liberty seniors, as this was their final season. Congratulations to the 2018 Liberty Leopards Golf Team!
