Last Friday night was a very memorable day for Liberty schools. Not only did the Liberty Leopards football team end the night with a stunning 40-13 victory over the team on the other side of Belmont, but also the Liberty Leaders Club (LLC) and the Liberty Relay for Life team held their annual pregame tailgate party. The tailgate took place right outside the entrance to the football field from 4:30-6:30pm.

The tailgate was a great success. Students enjoyed food, drinks, face painting, raffles, and a DJ. Many students and parents turned out to take part in the festivities. As the Girard Indians arrived, the Liberty marching band preformed fight songs that would set the tone for the rest of the night.

The tailgate was held to raise money for the Liberty Relay for Life team. Members of the Liberty Leaders Club worked the tailgate and kept everything running smooth. Overall, LLC Adviser Mrs. Songer said the tailgate raised over $600 for the Relay team. She thanks LHS wrestling coaches Hadi Hadi and Ryan Williams, as well as many members of the wrestling team, and Jason Rubin for their generous donations, and for their help setting up the tailgate.
