The Liberty Leopards bounced back after a difficult week one loss to Struthers to stun the Lakeview Bulldogs in their home opener at Leopard Stadium on Friday night.

The Leopards found themselves behind 14-0 at the half as Lakeview opened up the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run from Tony Crish midway through the opening quarter. The Bulldogs would strike again in the second quarter as Crish would return a punt 72 yards to the house giving them the early two-score advantage.

Liberty, who finished the game with 273 yards rushing was led by Campbell who had 70 yards on 5 carries. Also chipping in for the Leopards were Jaylen McKinney with 30 yards rushing, Zion Matlock with 40 yards rushing, and Haywood with 28 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Liberty will make the short trip to the new Rayen Stadium next Friday when the play the East Panthers.

Rushton, who finished the game with completing 4 of 5 passing for 45 yards also contributed with 12 carries for 66 yards.
