Liberty High School Volleyball 2017 Season Recap

With no senior leaders on the team, juniors are the leaders in overall stats. Melina Manning and Erica Carnes have shown great leadership leading the young team in each game. Melina Manning and Erica Carnes finished the season with great recognition, receiving division three second-team all-star and honorable mention.

Coach Manning explains that the 2017 volleyball season was a rebuilding season. As a first-year high school varsity coach, she says she is very proud of how the season turned out. Freshman and sophomore players showed great improvement stepping up into their varsity roles.

The Liberty volleyball team finished the 2017 season with a tough loss during sectionals against South Range. The team shows great potential and will continue to work hard during the offseason. The goal is to come back even stronger for the 2018 season.

One of the Liberty High School Volleyball team’s goals was to have a better record than the previous year’s 6 -17. After a season of many ups and downs, the team accomplished this goal finishing with an overall record of 10-12 and 5-5 in their conference.
