Liberty High Schools 2014 Homecoming weekend was kicked off with a great Friday night game as our Liberty Leopards took a 26-18 win over the visiting Crestview Rebels in the Leopards Homecoming game and home opener. The Leopards started the game strong, leading the Rebels 19-0 by halftime. The Rebels first found the end zone in the middle of the 3rd quarter, and soon followed with a 36 yard field goal to ultimately trail the Leopards 19-10. However, it wouldn’t be long before the Leopards answered back and orchestrated another scoring drive with efficiency and execution. By the beginning of the final quarter, the Leopards lead Crestview by a score of 26-10. The Rebels attempted to rally back against the Leopards, again finding the end zone and punching in a two point conversion to close the gap to an eight point game. Despite the hard fought efforts of Crestview, the Leopards defense would not allow another scoring drive by the Rebels for the duration of the game. The Leopards offense took to the field and allowed the clock to run down, securing a 26-18 victory over the visiting Crestview Rebels! The Leopards offense put up a total of 270 yards, consisting of 116 passing yards (and 1 passing TD) and 154 rushing yards (and 2 rushing TD’s). The Liberty Leopards (2-1) hit the road Friday to take on the Champion Golden Flashes (0-3). Good luck, Leopards!
