The Sylvania Invitational: January 15-16

The team traveled to Sylvania, Ohio for their second out-of-district competition of the year, and by far the largest regular season tournament Liberty attended. It was also Liberty’s most successful Sylvania Invitational in program history.

Junior Jala Beasley-Williams broke to Finals, finishing 5th overall, the best finish of the weekend. Senior Zach Smith broke into Final Round in Congressional Debate, finishing 15th, the highest in the history of Liberty Congressional Debate at this tournament.

Junior Katie Humphries broke out of preliminary rounds, ending her solid run in Double Octafinals, the first Liberty Lincoln Douglas Debater to ever do so. Juniors Jihad Esmail and Ahmad Amireh finished in 6th place in Public Forum Debate.
