The cheer squad is back for the 2017-2018 school year. Led by captains Jay’Lynne Armour and Nicole Patrone, they started out their season cheering at the Liberty Struthers football game. The cheerleading season started in the summer where they attended cheerleading camp and created a cheer routine along with hosting the Kiddie camp to coach middle school and little league cheerleaders.
The Leopard squad consists of varsity members Kylie Mowery, Hailey Odille, Zareya Ransaw, Amber Bowie, junior Rachel Derenzis, junior Taylor Howard. The junior varsity members are sophomore captain Alexa Henry followed by juniors Jurnee Terry, Sarah Ross, Tiana Gammon, sophomores Erika Walker, Azriel Perkins, and freshmen Taylor Rudolphi, Alyssa Helco, and Katelyn Maniscalco. They are coached by Liberty alumnus Carly Burgdorf and Dena Derenzis.
Alongside with cheering at every football and the pep rally, the girls fund themselves with their own fundraisers and including an annual car wash. They cheered at the Liberty vs Struthers game featuring the girls they coached at kiddie camp. The Leopards Cheerleading squad is looking forward to an awesome season!
