On September fifth California was struck by lightning which caused a series of wildfires. So far, over 5,136 fires have been recorded according to Cal Fire and the US Forest Service.
160,000 acres of land h
ave burned in the California fires in 2019 alone.
Thats alot of land and smoke. It has killed a total of only two people and countless animals and insects have lost their lives as well. Wildfires can be avoided.
To prevent them you can be careful where you light your fires and make sure not to leave a burning cigarette on the ground.
