The Liberty Tennis Team’s 2017 season is well under way and the Lady Leopards are working hard both on and off the courts as they begin the school year. The team captains are seniors Anissa Al-Kara’in, Autumn Duncan, and Kim McCann.

The girls had their first win of the season in their match against Warren G. Harding on August 28. The varsity line-up for the match was Kim McCann (first singles), Molly Young (second singles), Katie Reed (third singles), Anissa Al-Kara’in and Autumn Duncan (first doubles), and Sydney Lara and Ashley Fabian (second doubles). The match was held away at Packard Park where the Leopards took wins in second and third singles, as well as first and second doubles.

Coach Colleen Browning is the coach of the Liberty Tennis Team. This is her first year coaching with Liberty. Her experience with the girls so far has been a very positive one. “I’m very excited for this year’s team. We have experienced upperclassmen and lots of energy to learn in our new and younger players,” Coach Browning explained. “Our team chemistry is solid, too, which makes me hopeful that these girls will grow even stronger as a team in years to come.”
