High school students spend four years of their lives choosing classes and joining clubs and activities to prepare themselves for the future. One of these paths is college, a common choice for the future. Applying for colleges can seem to be time consuming and scary, as acceptance defines your future. There are a few key points to remember when thinking about applying to colleges.

Getting as much information as possible from guidance counselors, alongside doing your own research, will help to ensure that you are well prepared for applying to the colleges you want to go to. Applying to colleges as early as possible can ensure a good first impression, or even rolling admission acceptance. Being sure to apply to a few schools allows you to be sure that you have options on colleges to go to when the time comes. On the other hand, applying to too many colleges can create a difficult decision after being accepted into them. Alongside extra security, applying to at least one safe school will ensure that you are guaranteed to get accepted into at least one college.
