History of Android Robots:
An android robot is a type of synthetic organism that is designed to look and act like a human. Historically, android robots remained in the science fiction world included in books, movies, and television shows. Only recent studies have allowed android robots to become a reality.
Android Robots Around The World:
Japan: Japanese technology has been in the lead since the 1970s. Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan was the first place that a robot mission was initiated. It was called the WABOT project and it was initiated in 1967. In 1972 the first android was created called WABOT-1. It was a humanly intelligent robot that was a success! In 1984 WABOT-2 was created and had many more improvements from WABOT-1. It as capable of playing the organ. WABOT-2 had 10 fingers and two feet as well! Tokyo, Japan was home to the first robot that was not only human-like, but intelligent as well.
Singapore: In Singapore, Professor Nadia Thalmann at Nanyang Technological University directed efforts to develop a android robot called Nadine. Nadine is powered by a software comparable to Apple’s Siri.
United States: Walt Disney and a staff of Imagineers created Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln that debuted at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
Android robots have also been a staple in science fiction. They have been exemplified in movies, books, television shows, video games, and even in kids toys.
