Chop Saw Safety Rules - Jefferson County Public Schools
1. Operate only with instructor's permission and after you have received instruction. Inform the instructor if this machine is not operating correctly.
2. Remove jewelry, eliminate loose clothing, and confine long hair.
3. Make sure all guards are in place and operating correctly.
4. Always use proper eye protection and avoid distractions.
5. Make all adjustments only when the machine is at a dead stop.
6. Always hold the work (material to be cut) firmly against the fence and table.
7. Allow the motor to reach full speed before starting to cut.
8. Exercise caution when cutting warped, twisted, or short work pieces.
9. Keep hands out of the path of the saw blade. Use extra caution when making angled cuts.
10. When finished using the chop saw, allow it to come to a complete stop, clear scraps and clean up work area.
