2023 HERMES' CRATE

1799 WIRED-UP! ROBOT DESIGN DESIGN DRAWINGS SPECIFICATIONS STRATEGY FABRICATION Flyer

Hermes' Crate is the robot that the DRHS Robotics team made for the 2023 FRC Competition. From the Kickoff the first week of January the students on the team began developing a strategy and design. We were still a small team with a limited budget so we looked for the easier parts of the challenge that we could do to support high-scoring robots on our alliance. This lead to a design that could transport and place cube in the lowest level of the grid. We also identified helping out alliance to get 3 robots balanced on the charger as another way to get noticed by the best teams there. This lead to use making the narrowest robot we have ever made. By being narrow we left more room for large robot to be able to fit on the charger. We hope you will enjoy seeing the details of our design and the design process that got us to a successful robot.

The third image show the robot after 6 weeks of work. It now has metal structure and mechanisms for picking up game pieces.
