Sources of Energy and Application of Electricity
Electrical technology is the production, storage, transmission, and control of electrical energy. It also deals with getting work from electrical energy. In other words transforming electrical energy into other forms of energy, like light, heat and mechanical energy.
Electronics is the use of small amounts of electricity to communicate and process information. This is a specialized sub-set of electrical technology that focuses heavily on the control of electricity. Most electronic components will be found under Electrical Controls.
Subpages (8):
Electrical Circuits Electrical Controls Electrical Loads Electrical Paths
There are 4 major components of a good complete electrical circuit.
Source of electricity (battery)
Path (wires)
Load (light)
Controls (switch)
1. Source - device the produces or stores electricity and provides it to the circuit.
2. Path - conductive material that allows electrcity to flow to the other component of the circuit.
Transmitting Electricity -
3. Load - a component in a circuit that used the electrical energy, converting it into a different form of energy.
Converting Electricity into Motion -
Converting Electricity into Heat -
Converting Electricity into Light -
4. Controls - components in a circuit the limits how much electricity is allow to flow and when.
Controlling Electricity -
