History of Pathfinder
NASA’s Mars Pathfinder was launched on December 4, 1996 and landed on Mars’ Ares Vallis on July 4, 1997. The Mars pathfinder was the first robotic rover to land on Mars. The pathfinder’s job was to bring back information about Mars. The pathfinder used a lot of equipment it had to gather information about Mars. Pathfinder had an Alpha Proton X-ray Spectrometer to help determine the composition of rocks and soils. The pathfinder also had three cameras to take images of Mars to see Mars terrain and the environment around it. The last piece of technology the pathfinder had was a Atmospheric Structure Instrument/Meteorology Package and this was to measure the atmosphere of Mars and provide meteorological measurements. Over the past 20 years, the rover has brought back a lot of information and images on Mars and will hopefully bring a lot more in the future.

History of the mars pathfinder
Mars pathfinder brought into space on december 4 1996, and landed on mars on july 4 1997. The mission was to successfully land a robot on mars with little money. The mars pathfinder was the first to land on mars followed by multiple others. The pathfinders final transmission was on september 27 1997. This demonstrates the use of modern technology by allowing us to see specifics in the galaxy that we normally wouldn't be able to see.
The mars pathfinder is a robot because of the six characteristics. The body of the robot landed on mars with the sojourner rover. Because of this scientist were able to get data from the robot. The brain processes information from the sensors and send commands to the actuators. So it could move and send pictures to earth without remote control. The mars pathfinder had a program that allowed it to collect data and send it back to earth. The behavior of the robot could be told through its motions.
