AC class

The AC class was built for the increase in demand for motive power in Western Australia. They were the first new locomotives to enter service in the new numbering by horsepower scheme. They were built by UGL and as completed, railed to WA on QR Nationals MA an MP services. All were delivered this way and all operate on the standard gauge network within WA.

Before the introduction of the Cv43aci's the two AD class were briefly classed AC when they were introduced in lieu with the A/AA/AB series loco's but were renumbered after to free up the class.
