No.s 3 - 8

GML 10

In 1990 it was decided that a bigger locomotive was required for the railway to haul larger trains so Clyde Engineering was contracted to build a locomotive for the railway. It had a very simmilar appearance to the V/line N class but was completely differen't inside. It's guts were more like a DL class with a 12 cylinder 710 series instead of the 645 fitted to the N's. It featured dynamic brakes where the HEP generator would be on an N and microprocessor control. It was pointed into an orange and grey colour scheme originally but was transferred to BHP with the sale of the railway and company to them. During it's time with them it wore a Blue and white colour scheme and was renumbered as GML 20 until the mid to late 90's when it was considered surplus to requirements and was sold to Comalco to become R.1004 at Weipa. In 2009 it was put up for sale and sold to Australiann locolease who brought it, along with another locomotive to NSW where it was sold to QUBE and renumbered back to its original number of GML10.
