XR 555 was the last of the rebuilt XR's and the first of the Pacific National design XR's. It differs from the other rebuilt XR and is more like the new built XR's in design. It is currently on standerd gauge.

XR555 and XR558 undergo a crew change at the North Geelong C box while on an empty grain train on the 18/4/2011.
