82 RM was the last unit in service having been withdrawn in 1980. It was acquired by the Tallangatta Steam Preservation Society but they folded and 82 RM was stored at Huon for some time. During it's time in storage it was extensively vandalised. It was eventually acquired by the Daylesford Spa Country Railway to be used as spares for 91 RM.
