BRM class
Classing: BRM - Bendigo Rollingstock Manufacturing: builder
The BRM class is very simmilar to the XR class and VL class both mechanically, structurely and externally. They have a similar roof line to later and new build XR class but feature a full width nose and a larger fuel tank similar to that of a VL. They are consted by SSR in their Bendigo workshops and it is stated the production will be one or two a year, how many will be built is unknown at this stage however at least 2 locmotives are/will be produced. Once complete, the locomotives will be available for lease to other operators under the branding 'Consolidated Rail Leasing (CRL)' . BRM 001 was expected to be completed by the 30th of June 2012 but only left the workshops in late 2012.
