C class

The C class were purchased by VR for the interstate jet services between Melbourne and Adelade. At their time of introduction they were the most powerful locomotives in Australia. The 3 CFCLA owned C's numbers 502,503 and 508 have been re-engined with EMD 16-645E3C prime movers after refurbishment by RTS in 2007.
