VL41 is the last of the first series V/locities. It has been made up of two new cars, 1241 and 1341 and one rebuilt car 1241. 1241 is ex 1229 from VL29 after it had a level crossing accident and only one of the two cars was repairabe. car no. 1229 was taken to Dandenong and rebuilt and re-entered service as part of VL41. It later had a third car added to the consist (1341). Car 1141 is also the only known car to have the black numbers on a white background on the front.
