Introduction
This topic describes different declarative options available for customizing the Salesforce mobile app user interface. Various aspects of the mobile app, such as navigation menu, layouts, and branding can be customized according to business and user requirements. Many of these options are available for customization in the browser interface of Salesforce.

Navigation Menu
Before understanding what can be customized, we need to first be familiar with the user interface. The Navigation menu is located at the left side of the app and is used to navigate to the tabs that have been enabled.

Menu Items
Any items placed above the Smart Search Items element in the navigation menu customization. In the example screenshot, the Today, Dashboards and Events were placed above ‘Smart Search Items’.
Today – This is an app that helps one manage the day. It allows integration of mobile calendar events with Salesforce tasks, accounts, and contacts.
Dashboards – This item displays a list of recent dashboards. Dashboard is displayed if the user has been granted access to the Dashboard folder.
Events – This item lists the scheduled events for the user. One can easily toggle/scroll through dates across the top of the screen, quickly jump back to today’s events, and create new events.
Apps Section
The Apps section contains any items that are placed below the ‘Smart Search Items’ in the navigation menu customization.
Tasks – This item shows a list of the user’s open and closed tasks as well as tasks that have been delegated. It allows quickly checking tasks off as completed, creating new tasks, or swiping right on a task to update the Comments and Date.
People – This item displays a list of users; it is displayed for organizations that have Chatter enabled. It gives the ability to search for specific users and jump to their Chatter profile from this tab.
Groups – This item displays a list of groups that the user has access to; it is also displayed for organizations that have Chatter enabled. Users with “Create and Own New Chatter Groups” enabled are able to create groups on-the-fly from this tab.
Reports – This shows a list of recent reports. Reports are displayed if the user has been granted access to the Report folder.
Approvals – This item displays a list of user’s pending approvals
Paused Flow interviews – This shows a list of user’s Paused Flows
Canvas Apps – This appears when a canvas app has been added into the Salesforce app navigation menu
Lightning Pages and components (in this example, ‘Test’ is a lightning page)
