If a Discount Coupon does not work for a user, it could be due to one of the following:
Usage Limit: It could be because the coupon has exceeded its usage limit and therefore, cannot be redeemed anymore.
Expiry: Check the validity period of the coupon code and make sure it hasn't expired yet.
Allowed Emails / Email Restriction: Since our coupon codes get leaked often, we add validations to our coupon codes to ensure that only the target people get to use them. Check the 'Allowed Emails' field under Usage Restriction. If the concerned user is not using their work email or don't even work in the company at all, explain to them that the coupon is not for them to use. We can always offer the FoF-Bundle coupon to them instead.
Limit usage to X items: Some coupon codes have a restriction on how many items the user can purchase with the coupon code. Make sure they're not going beyond the limit usage.
Unique codes for companies: Most companies have unique codes for each employee. If someone reaches out saying that their unique coupon code doesn't work, it is most likely because their colleague has redeemed the code and they will have to ask for another one from the person in charge. Ask the user for the coupon code, check it here https://focusonforce.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=shop_coupon and see if it has been redeemed or not.Â
Company field: Our company codes require the user to put the company name in the company field in order to use the coupon. Remind the user to do this before checking out.
Clear Cache: If none of the above apply, ask the user to clear their browser cache and try again.
To check the Coupon Usage Summary for a certain coupon code, simply select a company in the filters and you should be able to see something like this:
