This screen is used to set up and maintain rate cards which are used to generate quotes for new requests coming in to SLM from Mainstream.
In the first tab Rate cards can be set up for specific customers so that when requests come in via Mainstream then they can be automatically quoted and licenced.
Also for customers who does not have a Rate card set up then a quote can still be automatically generated provided they match the criteria in the Generic rate card.
With the Rate card selected the criteria is displayed on the right hand side of the screen
Format- select the type of content that is being requested
Sector- the customer's market area. Select from the predefined list which is maintained in the Sector tab.
Product type- the type of product which the customer will be using the content in. This is a predefined list which is maintained in the Product types tab.
Repeat saving %- This is the percentage discounted which will be taken off the fee for repeated purchases.
Worldwide uplift %- Where Worldwide rights have been requested this is the percentage uplift that will be applied to the fee.
Audience Lower/Upper - This is audience reach of the customer's product and different fees can be created for different sized audience bands by entering lower and upper limits. There should not be any overlapping values and leaving Lower 0 and upper limit blank will leave this out of consideration
Words Lower/Upper- for text this is the number of words that has been requested. Upper and lower limits can be set so that a different fee will be generated according to the size of the content requested.
Regional fees- A fee can be set for each region. The licence fee is determined by which region the customer's country of billing falls under
The Regions (up to four can be set up) and what countries they comprise of are set up and maintained here.
First a name or description of the region should be entered and then the countries can be added in 'Countries in the region'. If a country needs to be removed from the region list then click on
To move a country to another Region then select the relevant country and click on Move country which will bring up the list of the other regions which it can be moved to.
Where there is a need to add all countries to a region then click on the Region and then click on Add all 'nn; unallocated countries and any countries that has not been allocated in any of the regions will be added to the selected region. The button will be greyed out if all countries have been allocated.
This is where the sector or the type of the customers are maintained. The sector name links back to the customer type in the customers screen.
Any sector applies the same rates across all customers and does not take into account what the customer type is.
If Academic Institution or Academic Publisher then the Sector is Education
If Commercial Publisher then the Sector is Media
If Organisation (over 50 people) then Sector is Corporate
For all others if Profit Status is Charity or Not-For-Profit then the sector is Charity/Not-For-Profit
If Profit Status is Profit then Sector is Corporate
