This window is used to define how much content a contributor is expected to deliver under the terms of their contract.
These expected deliverables can then be compared against the content matched to the contract, and if there are significant variance the contract owners can be alerted to review the contract.
Setting up a Monitoring rule
In order to create, amend or delete contract monitoring rules you must be listed as an Owner of the contract in the Fees popup window.
One or more monitoring rules can be set up under a contract: each with its own descriptive Name. This name will be used as a heading for each performance measurement, so please be sure to enter a name that clearly identifies the content being measured.
Enter the Format which the system should be monitoring from the drop down menu.
In Quantity and Type put in the measurements: for example in type specify whether the we are measuring the individual Items of content linked to the contract or (in the case of text) the number of words.
Enter a Tolerance %, such that if the matched content exceeds or falls short of the quantity expected by this amount then an alert will be sent out.
The frequency with which RCS run the calculations against each target is specified in the Calculate column.
The period which the calculation will be based on is set in Report on:
Week - the preceding week
Fortnight - the preceding fortnight
Month - the current month
CTD - contract to date: the period from the contract start date to the date the calculation is made
Publications and Publishing departments
The right hand side of the screen is used to listed the publications, and departments therein, that should be included in the summation of the published content for a given rule. The publishing department lists should not overlap across rules, for a given format, otherwise there may be problems of double counting, assuming each rule under a contract is meant to be looking at different content.
