This window is used for all the names associated with a contributor, whether they actual names, byline pseudonyms, abbreviations, or other contacts at the supplier organisation.
For all contributors the contact name or company name is automatically in this window. Additional names can be added as required: for example a writer may use a different byline, or a company may also be known by an acronym such as the BBC, PA or AP.
Additional names are added by clicking on the next empty record or using the toolbar button. After entering a name various options determine how that name can be used:
Search - identifies the name to be included in contributor searches
Match - indicates the name is to be used in any automated content matching
Direct - indicates a direct supplier realtionship, as opposed to an indirect supply via a news or photographic agency or book publisher
URL - can be ticked as a means of identifying a contributor via a URL in the published byline
R2 ID - the ID of the contributor in the website systems, and is used to maintain a link between an RCS contributor name and a contributor record on the website to support matching of content.
Rights department users see a slightly larger window with extra fields where further contact details can be entered.
Contacts can selected as the recipient of contracts and assignment terms sheets if Current contact? is ticked here.
