Introduction
Purpose
The document GNM_RCS_System_Configuration_FS.docx is the functional specification that describes what features RCS has in relation to the configuration of the system.
This document is one of a set of technical specifications that provide details of how those functions are implemented in RCS.
Scope
This document focusses on the reference data specific to Audiovisual content. Separate documents deal with all other aspects of the system’s configuration.
This document is intended as a high-level technical document outlining how the relevant business functions are implemented in terms of software modules.
Importantly, this document does not aim to provide the level of detail that would be required in a programming specification in areas such as program structure, detailed business rules, data integrity, validation, locking considerations, data security, and calls to/from other software modules, performance considerations, and so forth.
For details of program logic and coding, the reader should refer to the program files themselves.
Audiovisual
Audio visual content is processed differently from other content: this is largely because of the complexity of the arrangements entered into and the number of contributors who are involved in producing the content in various roles.
Where content is not GNM copyright an AV product tracking form is completed. This “form” requires two items of reference data both of which are described in this document.
AV product statuses
Each AV product has a status. A list of available statuses is maintained in RCS although there are only two at the current time.
The AV product statuses screen is accessible from the menu option: Housekeeping → Audiovisual → AV product statuses
This opens the Oracle Form named rcs_avps_010_pc.fmb as shown below.
This screen is only accessible to RCS Administrators.
The Display order determines the order in which these statuses are displayed in LOVs..
Contributor roles
Each AV product may have a number of contributors, each of whom may fulfil one or more roles. A list of roles a contributor may perform is maintained in RCS.
The Contributor roles screen is accessible from the menu option: Housekeeping → Audiovisual → Contributor roles
This opens the Oracle Form named rcs_avcr_010_pc.fmb as shown below.
This screen is only accessible to RCS Administrators.
The Display order determines the order in which this data is displayed in LOVs.
