This screen lists all content that is currently unprocessed, organised by matching area. This screen offers a range of options to manage published content and to manually process commissions and contributor payments.
The content that appears under each matching area is configured in the Matching configuration screen - please contact the RCS team for more details or to request any changes.
The screen is divided into three main sections.
Top
At the top of the screen the format options and the highlighted matching area determine the context for the rest of the screen as described below.
If a user only matches one format of content then the format option is not shown; otherwise only the formats relevant to the user are shown.
The buttons with the letters A-Z appear in the top right of the screen if the user has been allocated more areas that can be shown on the screen at one time. Pressing each button will scroll the user to the first area whose name starts with that letter, making navigation faster. Most of the buttons are usually disabled, reflecting the fact that the user is not allocated to any matching areas that begin with that letter.
The matching areas are shown in alphabetical order for editorial users. System admin users see all areas, but if they have been allocated areas to match those areas are shown first in alphabetical order and then the rest alphabetically after them.
Left hand side
On the left-hand side of the screen is the Unmatched published content, within the matching area, for the indicated format, which have not been automatically cleared or processed by the system.
Right hand side
On the right-hand side of the screen are four tabs:
Commissions: Shows all unfulfilled commissions for the highlighted desk listed alphabetically by contributor.
Contracts: Shows all current contracts for the highlighted desk, listed alphabetically by contributor.
Lineage/Agreed rate: When dealing with text content, the Lineage tab shows all contributors who are paid at lineage rates When processing Images the Agreed rates tab shows regular picture agencies where agreed rates for picture usage have been arranged.
Disregard: Shows a list of reasons to disregard content that does not need to be linked to a contributor.
The Contributor names in the commission and contract tabs can be reduced by using the A-Z quick query options.
When a commission or contract is highlighted there is a Chart of accounts menu minimised at the bottom of the screen which will display the Chart of account values for the commission (or the principle cost centre for a contract)
Finding content you need to process
At the top of the screen the format of content being displayed can be changed by clicking on Text/Pics/Illos/Xwd(crosswords)/Aud(audio content)/Vid(Video content). For users that only have access to one format then this option will not appear.
The content is also organised by matching area and clicking on each name causes the list of unmatched/unprocessed content allocated under that area to be requeried. If you have access to many matching areas then use the A-Z buttons to jump to the area beginning with that letter.
The content displayed can be filtered into Content appearing in the Web, Print, or Both by clicking on Web/Print/Both
By default the screen will display Content from the selected Matching area published within the last 3 months of the latest item of content. The date from which the unmatched content are displayed in the field, by chagning the value in the Since field and clicking on Find will requery the content screen.
Every content will have a production office attached to it and the content on display when going into the matching screen will be filtered by the office that the user has set by default (UK, US or Australia). This is set in the User record settings, but if content from the other offices can be displayed by ticking them and clicking on Find.
Where content is regularly being disregarded then the most common reasons used will be listed in the middle of the screen for easy access.
However please do report to the RCS team if there are common rules that can be used to auto disregard content that appears in the content matching screen
Content that has also been published elsewhere then clicking on Siblings will show the other uses of that content and other details such as whether it was matched etc.
Directory is a quick lookup of all the contributors on the system to check the status (e.g. whether a contributor is freelance or Staff).
View displays the highlighted item of Content. For content published in print a PDF of the page will open in a separate tab or window; for web content the URL will be launched in another tab or window.
Details on how to match and process content can be found in Matching content
