This screen list all content that is currently unprocessed. Organised by Pre-defined Matching areas, this screen offers a range of options to manage published content and to manually process commissions and contributor payments.
The Mode can be switched to Review to review content that was matched to Framework agreements.
The screen is divided into three sections.
At the top of the screen the format option and the highlighted cost centre determine the context for the rest of the screen as described below.
On the left-hand side of the screen is the Unmatched published content and includes all Published text, pictures, illustrations, Audio or Video which have not been automatically cleared or processed by the system.
On the right-hand side of the screen are four tabs:
Commissions: Shows all unfulfilled commissions for the highlighted desk listed alphabetically by contributor.
Contracts: Shows all current contracts for the highlighted desk, listed alphabetically by contributor.
Lineage/Agreed rate: When dealing with text content, the Lineage tab shows all contributors who are paid at lineage rates When processing Images the Agreed rates tab shows regular picture agencies where agreed rates for picture usage have been arranged.
Disregard: Shows a list of reasons to disregard content that does not need to be linked to a contributor.
The Contributor names in the commission and contract tabs can be reduced by using the A-Z quick query options.
When a commission or contract is highlighted there is a Chart of accounts menu minimised at the bottom of the screen which will display the Chart of account values for the commission (or the principle cost centre for a contract)
Finding content you need to process
At the top of the screen the format of content being displayed can be changed by clicking on Text/Pics/Illos/Xwd(crosswords)/Aud(audio content)/Vid(Video content). For users that only have access to one format then this option will not appear.
The content is also organised by Matching area and clicking on each name causes the list of unmatched/unprocessed content allocated under that area to be requeried. If you have access to many area then use the A-Z buttons to jump to the cost centre beginning with that letter.
NOTE: The matching areas can be configured by the RCS administrator. If the content being displayed is not relevant or if there are items missing then please get in touch with the RCS team.
The content displayed can be filtered into Content appearing in the Web, Print, or All by clicking on Web/Print/All option
By default the screen will display Content from the selected Area. Choosing to display All may return a a very long list so it is advisable to add further restrictions to the query. This can be done by entering a Query against the fields in the content side OR for Web content, using one or any combination of the tag restrictions: Tone, Blog, Series, Section, Keyword. Clicking in any of these fields will bring up a list of valid values.
The content can also be restricted to the Section name (from the web). A cost centre may also contain content from multiple sections (for example Sport may contain sections Football or Sport).
Finally Content which has Keywords tagged to it can be restricted as well
Once all of the filter options required have been filled in click on Run query to apply it to the content.
If the content belongs to a series or is part of a blog then select the name in the relevant field. If you are only interested in the type of content for example Reviews, News, Extracts, Letters, etc then select this from the Tone field.
If no restrictions are entered you will be asked to confirm that you want an unrestricted query as follows:
Directory is a quick lookup of all the contributors on the system to check the status (e.g. whether a contributor is freelance or Staff).
View displays the highlighted item of Content. For content published in print a PDF of the page will open in a separate tab or window; for web content the URL will be launched in another tab or window.
Details on how to match and process content can be found in Matching content
